Cemetery information:- Album complete. Only one headstone has a name on, but there are several other graves. Additional info: I went looking for the graves of my Smith ancestors (although spelt as Smith, they pronounced it as Smit. They were descendants of the progeniter Johannes (Jan) SMIT *1656-1696 from Maastricht). According to their death notices, they both died and were buried on the farm Petrusdal, in 1901. The husband's death notice states that he died in the house of MJ Botha. (The farm belonged to a Botha during those years.) Both husband and wife died of typhoid fever within a days from each other, aged 43 and 50 respectively. I'm sure that they are buried here as well, as there is only one cemetery on the farm: Stephanus Johannes SMITH *circa 1851, died 22/02/1901 Elsje Maria SMITH nee VOSLOO *circa 1858 died 26/01/1901 eGGSA captions by: Riana le Roux The GGSA Cemetery DVD only has information on the cemetery location.
