Cemetery information:-
In December 2007 Brian Barrett discovered a book at the Cambridge cemetery with a record of all the graves at the Tindale Road Cemetery in East London, Buffalo City.
The recording was done and the book produced by Mr Terry ARCHER in 1990. Mr ARCHER, now living in Stutterheim, explained that 20 copies were made of the book at that time. One was donated to the East London Museum and 10 copies were donated to the East London library, to be sold for fund raising.
When Brian went to visit the cemetery in January 2008 he found that the cemetery is now partly used as a children’s playground and has a few swings, slides and a small roundabout. It would appear that all the Gravestones have recently been moved and neatly arranged against the one wall so as to create an area for the playground.
Our sincerest thanks to Mr Archer who has given us permission to use his research for this album.
