Alfred Luscombe se geboortejaar was 1887 en nie 1897 soos op die grafsteen nie. Dit is bevestig deur een van sy kleinseuns, Otto Hirzel: Firstly, my grandfather was definitely born in 1887 and not 1897. I don’t think anyone in the family has ever picked up this error on his gravestone. Amongst other things, he was slightly more than 10 years older than my grandmother who was certainly born in 1898. Dr Andrew Murray, whose statue stands outside the NG church in Graaff Reinet, was my grandmother’s grandfather. (Informasie deur Francois du Toit voorsien)
