Inligting van oom Jasper Nieuwoudt verkry:

Dit is die familiebegraafplaas op 'n Gedeelte van Groot Brakfontein (alias Perdekraalsberg) genoem "Witleeg" ongeveer 21km uit Garies op die Groenrivierpad. Witleeg is omtrent 5km verby Dikdoorn onderweg see toe en ongeveer 60 km van die see af met dieselfde pad onderweg na Garies. Die oorpronklike groter familiebegraafplaas is op Dikdoorn wat nou aan my neef Jan Nieuwoudt behoort. Die begraafplaas op Witleeg is ontwikkel omdat Oom Basie (JPS Nieuwoudt) die begeerte gehad het om daar op sy broer se grond begrawe te word. Daar was toe reeds 'n ongemerkte graf (hopie grond met klippe vir kop en voetstukke) van ene Semior/ Seymour/ Semoir/ (spelling? Hy was 'n vrygesel Engelse soldaat wat na afloop van die Anglo Boere-oorlog toestemming van my Oorgrootvader, (Jasper Jacobus Dreyer 1833 -1907), aan wie die grond op daardie stadium behoort het, gekry om daar te bly, paar vee aan te hou en 'n tuintjie te maak. Hy het omstreeks dieselfde tyd (1907) as Oupagrootjie Jasper te sterwe gekom en is toe daar naby sy blyplek begrawe. Dit is die hopie grond reg langs die asse van die Burkes. Daarna is Oom Basie (JPS Nieuwoudt en ouer broer van my Pa) volgens sy begeerte en versoek daar begrawe. Om besonderhede nie verlore te laat raak nie het ek vir Oom Basie se die graf (dit is toe ongeveer 60 jaar na die Engelsman daar begrawe is) 'n tydelike grafsteen met die hand gemaak en opgesit. Paar jaar later het ek 'n granietsteen opgesit. Toe was daar twee grafte. Daarna, in 1978, is my moeder, Aletta Maria (de Beer) Nieuwoudt oorlede en my vader, Jasper Jacobus Dreyer Nieuwoudt net 3 maande later in Jan 1979. Intussen het die suster van my Pa, Maria Cornelia, se familie 'n nis ingerig en is heelwat van hulle asse daar geplaas. My oudste suster, Miems (Maria Cornelia Jansen) is ook reeds daar begrawe en so ook 'n skoonseun, Myburgh de Vos le Roux, van my oorlede broer, Abraham Hendrik Petrus de Beer Nieuwoudt wat ook ongeveer 15 mnde gelede daar begrawe is.
