Willem C JANSE VAN RENSBURG took part in the Groot Trek from the Eastern Cape. Survived the 1838 murders in Natal at Rensburgkoppie (Rensburg Hill) and established himself as leader in the ZAR. Member of the Volksraad (People Assembly), Assistent Commandant-General, Commandant-General, acting State President and State President.
His wife EMJ remarried JT Breet in 1867.
Both Willem and Elizabeth were buried on their farm Kafferskraal, district Rustenburg. Re-interred at the Hereos Acre in 1974
