"Grootouma Sannie Viljee is in 1887 te Ermelo oorlede en daar in die begraafplaas wat vandag as die die ‘ou’ begraafplaas bekend is ter ruste gelê. In die tradisie van die tyd is haar graf met ‘n struktuur bedek wat dit die naam ‘bakoondgraf’ gegee het. Tydens die ABO is hierdie bakoondgraf deur die Tommies afgebreek en vernietig op soek na ‘n skat wat moontlik daar begrawe kon wees.
In 1974 het ‘n niggie van my die graf vir my gaan wys. Al wat daarvan oorgebly het was ‘n hopie klippe en halwe bakstene. Niemand het hom oor die graf ontferm nie en die munisipaliteit het in ‘n skoonmaakproses die hopie rommel verwyder en die plek gelyk gemaak en gras daaroor laat groei. Gelukkig het hulle die plaatjie met die grafnommer daar gelos.
In 2009 het ek besluit om ‘n steentjie met haar naam daarop op die graf te laat aanbring. Dit het ‘n halwe dag se gesoek afgegee om die graf op te spoor. Maar dit is gedoen en vandag pryk ‘n netjiese steentjie met haar naam op die graf. "
