"Stamvader" het hy 30 kinders agter sy naam wat 'n SA rekord is (maar by 3 vrouens! 16, 13 en 1 onderskeidelik). Hy is op 13 Julie 1799 gebore in Tulbagh en is op 23 Mar 1876 naby Fochville oorlede toe hy onder 'n ossewa beland het wat in 'n donderstorm begin gly het. Hy was oppad Potch toe om sy jongste (en enigste kind by sy derde vrou wat kort na die geboorte oolede is - sy was ook 57 jaar jonger as hy) te laat doop toe hy oorlede is'
