According to Peet Schabort, these were two brothers who came from Scotland on a contract to build a Railway line between Springs and the coal mines in Breyten and Ermelo. The 'Springs Eastward Railway' in 1904 and 1905. They missed their home country so much that they ended up naming all the railway stops after places in Scotland, eg: Leslie, Devon, Oban, Kinross and Leven.
