Cemetery information:-
Cnr. of Castle and Darling Street
Cape Town.
The regiment first emerged in 1781, later known as the Pandour Corps. It was re-named the Cape Regiment in 1801.
The regiment became a permanent unit to the SA Defense Force in 1972. The memorial commemorates the fallen of recent history, starting from 1986. Therefore, the dates 1806-1817 on the memorial appear to be incorrect.
