Western Cape, CAPE TOWN, Urban area / Western Cape, CAPE TOWN, City Bowl and City Centre / Western Cape, CAPE TOWN, City Bowl, Adderley street, The Old Slave Lodge, Memorials / (8 of 9 images)
Album information:-
The Cultural museum is also known as the Slave Lodge, situated on the corner of Wale and Adderley streets. The building has been beautifully renovated.
None of the people in this album were buried at the Slave Lodge - except for a few where this is stated, the original location of the gravestones is unknown.
It was very difficult to take these pictures as some of the stones are mounted high up on the wall. The inscriptions on the stones are very old and proved to be a challange.
Thank you to Richard Ball, Annatjie Erasmus, Annelie Els and Gail Röthlin who helped with the captions.
The GGSA Cemetery DVD only has information on the location of the cemetery
