You will notice one picture of four graves closely adjoining / adjacent to one another.
From a description by David Gray: ".... Re your request for information concerning the 10 soldiers who are buried in a communal grave, my cousin Cpl. L. Cilliers was killed in the same incident - actually 12 perished in the accident. My cousin and his team were clearing mines and transporting them to a demolition area. It appears that one of the land mines had not been defused correctly and exploded on the back of the truck detonating the other mines and killing the 10 on the back of the truck plus the driver and my cousin in the cab. They were buried separately as their bodies were identifiable but the remains of the soldiers on the back of the truck were unidentifiable and so were buried in a mass grave. They were members of the Cape Town Highlanders."
